i am clingy person, i lost some friends earlier but i did not understand earlier. but currently i lost my best friend who is like family to me. i called her sister and she called me brother. with time i got cling and emotionally attached to her. she earlier told me to change my clingy and emotional behavior but i failed. now she left me . i am very sad and depressed that all my friends now start ignoring me, i am not a bad friend but i am just clingy one. now i lost my confidence and from last few days i stop going to class because she is my classmate and stop using cell phone, i get completely disconnect from my friends. i just want to change my self but i do not know how? i am very sad and depressed, she is like my sister and she left me, i apologized but she left me. please tell me the ways to change my clingy behavior i lost so many friends and my best friend, i do not want to loose more friends, please help me, i am very depressed..

once my step daughter turns 16 is she going to be able to choose which parent she wants to live with?

My step daughter is currently 14 and is living with us. Her father got custody about 3 years ago and she was convinced by her mother that she can come back with her when she turns 16. The mother has only exercised her visitation for one weekend in the past year and a half. She may call the children for a couple weeks and then she wont call for a couple of months. These kids are well taken care of and have everything they could need. Even after all the time their mother has not been around or called they still drop everything and throw a fit if we aren't home when she calls (although she calls a cell phone). My step daughter is on the deans list and is so smart...book smart, I'm just afraid that she will make a poor decision. Is she going to be able to make that decision when she is 16 or is it 18?
The courts are the ones who took custody away from her mother and gave custody to her father...
We are unsure of what NY state law is concerning this matter.

What do you do to feel better when you miss someone really bad?

My fiance and I are very close and don't even like being away from each other everyday for school/work. He's going for 3 weeks across the country to see his family and he left today. We cried so much at the airport and I feel terrible. The worst part is I wont be able to talk to him for a week because he'll be camping in the middle of nowhere with his dad the cell phones won't work.

I know people have had it much worse before and I'm definately not trying to complain. I can't imagine what it would be like to not be able to see my fiance for months if he were in the army. My heart really goes out to you guys dealing with that right now.

Do you guys have any ideas on how to cheer myself up? What do you do when you're away from someone you love for an extended period of time? I just feel so depressed, I don't want to do anything but lay around and cry.

Maybe this man has never gotten the memo of how 911 works, but here in the U.S. we use it for emergency situations only. That being said, this was this man's emergency.

According to police a homeless Oregon man was arrested for trespassing and sneaking into a local hot tub. It wasn't the owners of the hot tub who called the police. The homeless man allegedly dialed 911 to request, "a hug and a warm cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows."

Despite the fact that officers in several cities such as Tulsa, Oakland, and Norton are no longer responding to burglaries, fraud, and theft calls...Oregon cops have time to respond to hug calls.

When the police arrived at the Beaverton, Oregon neighborhood pool they found Mark Eskelson naked in a hot tub. According to reports, Eskelson was sitting naked in the hot tub for around 10 hours before he began to worry about his health because there were no dry towels.

When asked if he had a weapon he told the dispatcher, "My fingers are so numb they've turned into prunes. Even if I did have a gun I don't think I could hold onto it right now."

Eskelson was reportedly screaming for nearly two hours disturbing neighbors who were also calling the police in a noise complaint. Officers who arrived at the scene said that Eskelton identified himself the "sheriff of Washington County" according to FOX News. As Eskelson was being arrested he said, "I just need a hug and a warm cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows in it."

UPDATE: The story gets even more twisted. Apparently the man never called 911 on his cell phone but instead was transferred by 411 according to KATU, a local television station.

hey,

i know in all schools, cell phones are not allowed...and i know that if you're caught texting, the teachers can take it away..

but my question is, can the teachers actually read your texts and past messages?? because i know in the past, there have been cases of students caught with the phone, and the teacher takes it away, AND also goes through your history and personal stuff...and there have been court cases over who is in the wrong...so are teachers allowed to do this?? and can they get fired for doing this? or just in trouble??
